How to survive Don't Starve.

1) The Basics

In your first 5 days, you should be collecting basic supplies, rocks, wood, straw and twigs.
This is essential for the rest of your don't starve days. A good way to do this, is to make a full stack, separate it by control clicking it, then dropping half of the stack at a desired location, rinse lather repeat when necessary. By day 5 you should have a nice pool of resources.

2) Setting up a base

Strategically build your base. No derping out and planting your base in the middle of a swamp, make a check-list in your head, for what you want in your base.
- Do you want protection? If yes a pig village is a perfect place
- Do you want morsels? If yes, build near rabbit holes
- Do you want free manure and hair? If yes, build near Beefalo's
- Do you want tentacle spikes? If yes, build near a swamp
~ Try and get a combination if possible

After you have selected an area, build your science machine, and proceed to building hay walls, (If necessary/ and/or you're not good at combat) - Please note they are not for defence they are for time to run/prepare.

3) Day 5-10

Continue building your base, expand it more, stockpile, create a few farm plots. Research Weapon's and mechanisms of attack/defence, most important is spear and log-suit. Make a small twig farm, collect manure and make a small grass farm, this will be for winter. In general days 5-10 are just for extra gathering. Try and get a bee-box/crock pot's, and a drying rack - Essential. For the 11-15 make sure you collect a small amount of silk, around 15.

4) Days 11-15

Make high restoration food's as the next few days will be fighting. If you have enough food, get pigs to help you, collect silk, and search for the Koafalant. You cannot randomly find the Koafalant, instead you must reveal tracks, you can spend more days on this if you are well set-up. If/and/or you find the Koafalant make sure you have a set-up base. Kill it only when you know you'll be able to make a breezy vest, prior to this collect silk, and have an alchemy station, build the breezy vest, ready for winter. If you require more days, be ready by Day 16.

5) Day's 16-20

Stockpile food during these days, grow seeds if not already, Don't harvest the fruit. Continue with the drying racks, stockpiling jerky, don't stockpile raw meats. Raw meats should be eaten or dried into jerky. Make a constant stockpile, and have plenty of wood ready for fires.

6) Day's 20+

It's up to you what you do now, to survive in winter, wear warm clothing, drop pieces of firewood, and set it alight with a torch if beginning to freeze, by now you should have developed a fighting technique, on/and around day 26-29 Deerclops will arrive, make sure you're ready to fight him, logsuit and spear recommended. Continue eating and producing jerky, if your confident get some pigs and attack Mac'Tusk N Son, for a Tam O' Shanter.
